Bulldogs Outmatched in Clash with Highland

ree

The Huskies started strong, taking an early lead (6-3). The Bulldogs managed to briefly take the lead (3-2) with a three-pointer, but the Huskies’ Sawyer Morgan was a dominant force, scoring repeatedly, while Haxtun's offense struggled against Highland's half-court trap. The quarter ended with a significant lead for the Huskies, 19-5, and highlighted the Huskies' ability to capitalize on Haxtun's turnovers. The Bulldogs struggled with ball handling and creating quality shots, forcing shots rather than letting the offense flow.

Highland continued its dominance, maintaining a comfortable lead throughout the second quarter. Despite the Bulldogs' attempts to slow the pace, the Huskies effectively countered with their full-court press, forcing more turnovers. Haxtun managed a few more scores, but Highland's Sawyer Morgan remained a consistent scoring threat. The half ended 33-19 in favor of the Huskies. The Bulldogs struggled to get quality shots and second-chance points.

The Huskies' offensive and defensive efficiency continued to overwhelm the Bulldogs in the third quarter. Highland's transition game and strong rebounding frequently led to easy scores, while the Bulldogs' offensive execution remained inconsistent. Several turnovers and missed shots further widened the gap. The Huskies' full-court press continued to disrupt Haxtun's offense throughout this quarter. The quarter ended with Highland's lead at 54-22.

With a substantial lead, the Huskies maintained control in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs substituted heavily, trying to gain some experience, but the Huskies' depth and skill were too great. Despite the Bulldogs’ attempts to rally, the Huskies ultimately secured a convincing 66-30 victory.
