Huskies take down Haxtun in Hard-Fought Battle




The game started with a display of defensive intensity from both teams, resulting in several missed shots and turnovers. Bobby Starkebaum secured the opening tip for the Bulldogs, leading to an early 2-0 lead. However, the Huskies countered with their tenacious defense, keeping the score close, ending the quarter at 7-5 in favor of the Bulldogs.


The Huskies stepped up their defensive pressure in the second quarter, forcing several turnovers and limiting the Bulldogs' offensive output. The Bulldogs struggled with high passes, leading to more turnovers. Meanwhile, the Huskies capitalized on these mistakes, extending their lead by the end of the quarter to 17-11.


The defensive battle continued into the third quarter, with both teams trading baskets. The Bulldogs attempted to chip away at the Huskies' lead, but their struggles their pressure persisted, hindering their scoring attempts. The Huskies maintained their advantage, and the quarter ended with a score of 35-24 in the Huskies’ favor.


The final quarter saw a surge of fouls from both sides as the intensity heightened. The Bulldogs fought valiantly, attempting to close the gap, but the Huskies' strong defense held them back. While the Bulldogs scored 15 points in the final quarter, the Huskies’ lead proved too significant to overcome, resulting in a final score of 47-39.
